Another weird movie with an agenda!!

Its strange. We seem to be stuck in an era where this emergence of weird emasculating movies seems to be showing its ugly little head,

Dude & Dudette get stuck in the forest. Dudette is upset that the Dude is showing respect and being a Dude.

Dude gets injured, another new dude turns up, Dudette touches up new Dude like she's never seen a dude before..... some monster that you never really see some how makes the movie come together..... Dudette's original dude lays on bed injured throughout entire movie being disrespected while Dudette plays beauty and the beast with new dude...... beauty is a far reach. LOL ... I really don't know how else to describe this pile of absolute trash.

The best acting was done by the guy who was sleeping throughout the majority of the movie.

Oh ...... also .... Dudette starts dreaming about new dude while old dude is laying unconscious. Its bad.

TBH ... this film is complete and utter trash. I started writing this review mid way through the film. It becomes much MUCH worse.

Consumed.....by boredom

A couple goes on a camping trip somewhere in the woods.

For the first half hour or so they just do that.

Walking around and talking about some boring stuff.

Sometimes the woman has some visions of herself lying on a stretcher.

What??? Why???

Well at least the nature photography is quite nice.

Then they put up their tent, talk a lot of lengthy nonsense around the campfire and go to sleep when the woman has more of these stupid and boring "visions"

Then some foggy wood-creature-thingy hunts them through the woods.

Why??? What???

It could have just surprised them while they were sleeping in their tent - but who knows - perhaps the creature-thingy is also into wandering through the woods?

It is day all of a sudden, the couple is wandering through the woods again, with the creature-thingy never catching up to them, the woman has more and more of these boring visions, and so on.

Then they meet some crazy hunter guy, take shelter in his cave and now sit down there in that cave, talking nonsense for a long time while the woman has more visions.

Sounds all veeeery boring and veeery stupid?

Yes, it is.

I'll spare you the even more boring and stupid details of how it all ends but anyway most of it consists of more and more of these visions the woman has.

And they get longer and longer and longer and even more nonsensical.

And that is basically the whole boring and stupid movie.

At no point whatsoever does it get even mildly interesting, let alone suspenseful, thrilling or entertaining.

If you don't know how to tell a good story, just show some nice nature pictures and a woman with some stupid visions in the woods.

Ohhhhh....facepalm!

Yes, consumed!

In the vast landscape of B-horror movies, films often struggle to balance the scale of innovation and the familiar tropes that fans adore. This latest entry into the genre showcases some notable positives while leaving much to be desired in its execution.

The film is the story of a couple who embark on an adventure in the heart of nature to relive their best memories, but their journey soon turns into a nightmare. So far the movie starts out very similar to 'Backcountry' and honestly by the end there are many similarities between the two. Except here there is a third character, and a creature, whereas in Backcountry the monster was a big predatory bear.

One of the standout features of this horror film is undoubtedly the beast itself. Although at first this creature is nothing more than a black smoke similar to the one in the 'Lost' series, but finally when it really appears it is both imaginative and terrifying.

The cinematography of the movie is good and the sound effects are excellent. Perhaps the most refreshing aspect is the surprising in the storyline. While the film does not offer a traditional twist, it manages to add layers to the narrative and makes it interesting. This creative decision stands out amidst a sea of predictable plots, ultimately providing a well-received moment of shock.

However, despite these strengths, the film falters severely in its storyline. The plot, while offering some interesting moments, often feels disjointed and underdeveloped. Audiences may find themselves confused or, worse, disinterested in the motivations behind the characters' actions, which are often riddled with clichés. Unfortunately, the actors can't help the movie's characters to get out of the stereotypes, and except for the actor who plays the role of the hunter Quin, who has a better performance, the other two actors remain on the same level.

In the end, this horror film showcases a striking beast, effective atmospheric elements, impressive sound design, and a narrative surprise that stands out. However, it stumbles with a lackluster storyline, clichés that plague the characters, and performances that fail to resonate. For fans of the genre, it offers a few captivating scares, but it ultimately falls short of being a standout in an already crowded field.
