Good movie - Ending Might not Sit Well with Audience

Cost of Free Internet is Freedom. That's the theme explored by a myriad of movies. I'd say that CTRL comes close to being good on this trodden genre.

It is probably the best from Ananya Pandey - Good screen presence and suprisingly good acting (Never thought that I would have an opportunity to say this about Ms. Pandey). Vikramaditya Motwane is his usual best - exploring a literally cliched theme with his magical touch.

I am an admirer of Motwane's body of work be it Bhavesh Joshi or Trapped, he made films that were way ahead of their times. However, the man needs to figure out a way to connect with wider audience.

Having said that, the way CTRL starts with a RomCom mood to move into a thriller and ultimately a distropian tone is worth noting. It is a definite one time watch.

A Thought-Provoking Thriller That Falls Short of Its Potential

"CTRL" (2024) presents a chillingly relevant exploration of our digital lives, tapping into the anxieties of a generation increasingly reliant on technology. While the film offers a thought-provoking premise and a glimpse into the potential consequences of our online presence, it ultimately falls short of its full potential.

Ananya Panday delivers a commendable performance as the protagonist, navigating the complexities of her character's predicament with conviction. The film's exploration of themes such as online privacy, social media addiction, and the blurring lines between the virtual and real world is both timely and relevant.

However, "CTRL" suffers from pacing issues and a narrative that occasionally feels convoluted. While the central premise is intriguing, the execution could have benefited from a more focused approach. The film's attempts to delve into deeper philosophical questions about technology and human connection feel somewhat underdeveloped.

Despite its flaws, "CTRL" is a worthwhile watch for its thought-provoking premise and Ananya Panday's compelling performance. It serves as a cautionary tale about the potential dangers of our digital lives, prompting viewers to reflect on their own relationship with technology.

Dont go with the reviews

The movie doesn't start with a bang. Ten minutes into the film, I was cursing myself for watching it. Then I came here to check the reviews and saw only two reviews, each with a rating of 1. I knew these ratings were unfair, so I decided to give the movie a shot. Honestly, the movie is decent-I'd rate it a 5 or 6. It's a one-time watch; the concept is new, and while I agree it is inspired by "Her," "Black Mirror," and others, at least someone is trying.

The acting by both leads is good, but the supporting actors are lackluster and overacted. The cameos were cool. Out of the three new actresses, I find Ananya to be the better actor, so pardon me if you feel the movie deserves a 5 instead of a 6.
