Really enjoyed this film. It's a classic British comedy that is an easy and enjoyable watch. If you're a fan of British comedy films, with indie flair and low budgets, this one is for you. The acting is pretty solid and the jokes landed nicely. It's not groundbreaking but we don't need every film to be a critically acclaimed masterpiece. Every now and then we want to watch something that is a bit silly and fun. Particularly enjoyable as we're from Dewsbury so know many of the locations very well. I'd say objectively a 7-8/10 but I personally really enjoyed it so 10/10. If you come across it on a streaming platform, then it's definitely worth a watch.
Plot summary
Back in the 80s, five friends cause raucous in their schooldays. Twenty years on and they've got jobs they don't want and wives who don't want them. The leader of the gang, Frankie, is now dying in Yorkshire. The others find out and they get together for one last sad, mad, bad road trip to Dewsbury, before it's all too late. Mix in a dollop of The Inbetweeners' intellectual wit, add a pinch of bromancing from The World's End, and then stir in a few ladles of The Hangover's vomit and you've got Destination: Dewsbury, destined to be one of 2018's funniest releases.
