There was an effective contrast between life in the big city, where seemingly the entire power elite is corrupt, and the small-town country environment where the living is easy and the people angelic. While the town is Primrose Creek, it might as well be called the Garden of Eden.
The most well-developed relationship is that of the city slicker Hallie Boyer and her cowboy Chance Coulter. There was nice chemistry between the two characters, as the sparks began to fly in the town's main restaurant, the Last Chance Café, then escalated in the beautiful cabin wherein Chance's grandfather toiled log by log to build such a beautiful retreat.
The main reason for Hallie fleeing Los Angeles was due to the death of her stepfather, murdered by the conspiracy of kleptocrats with Hallie in possession of the incriminating evidence. It was never clear how this powerful group was eventually brought down.
But the film was successful in casting a radiant light on the idyllic community of Primose Creek. The Last Chance Café will now be graced by the fine cuisine of a San Francisco-trained chef and an idyllic life on the farm with Hallie and her cowboy.

City vs. Country
Not a bad movie for cable
Found this to be an average movie for cable. It does get a little long waiting for action. Kate is fine in this role after getting killed off from Battlestar. She was very good in Battlestar and adds that talent here. Kevin Sorbo should stick to action adventure, here he was a little stiff in the role. Still all in all a watchable pair. The writing in this movie is a little stale, in that we have seen much of this story line before. Big city girl on the run from bad husband aka Julia Roberts, this time the husband is in trouble with the mob, but we really never find out what the connection is about as the documents that Kate's father left behind the picture never really play into why the Mob wants her so bad or why her husband feels he must go after her. The whole final shoot out is not very tight. But in the end I watched and enjoyed Kate but not much else. Rating a 5 due to Kate's performance but she could only carry this movie so far.
