Could have been really good

The guy is funny and sweet.

The main girl seemed ok but had all the baggage that she never even seemed to deal with. They established they had issues and that she had trauma she needed to deal with but she never did. They just said they'd work it out and then all of a sudden they're getting married. Did she do some time in therapy before the wedding?

The MIL is awful for most of the movie then tries to make up for it at the end, not buying it.

The mom has a weird accent that can't decide if she's British or from Boston.

The end was weird. Did she take the job at the dig site? Did they move to Greece? We don't know.

The wedding scene was weird. Who was marrying them? The read their vows and kissed but like no one pronounced them. There was a guy off to the side, why didn't he go do it?

Too many questions left unanswered.

Very entertaining overall

I liked seeing Martina Sirtis again after a long time not paying attention (remember Star Trek Next Generation?). I am half Greek and have lived in Greece, though have never been to Santorini. The execution was well done, but not perfect. 2 examples: when members of the male lead's family are talking amongst themselves, the fact that they speak English is understandable because of the English-speaking target audience, but they say "grandma" when basically everyone (I think, by now), knows that "yiayia" is Greek for grandma. Second example: when the male lead's sister gets married to her Greek husband in the church, the priest says, at the end, "You may kiss the bride" in English. This, after all the authentic ceremonial lead-up to that moment. He should have stayed in Greek because they kissed right after.

Something else that really annoyed me was the last scene, where the 2 leads finally get married. There was no hint of religion--not even an officiant!--and in front of his "traditional" family, including "yiayia." I'm pretty traditional, so consider it an affront to Greek tradition to have such a liaison (couldn't really call it a wedding without someone officiating).

Well, the scenery was great, at least.

Ok

I really like Torrey Devito and she was ok in this one. She usually Carrie's her emotions better. Her acting was better in. RIP but I didn't really like that movie until I saw it twice. The mother in law to be was quite good. She played the part well. She seemed like a demanding mom.

The Greek male lead was so unbelievable and missed the mark. He had little chemistry.

The movie drama, always drama In hallmark, was extremely week. The movie seemed forced in parts. Tortes mom was good and future sister in-law but the rest were so so.

I hoped for better but there wasn't chemistry and many parts forced. I will adjust my review after I watch again. Hopefully for the better.
