Sort of lacking a proper storyline...

I had never heard about this 1993 Hong Kong action movie "Jing Wang Xiong Feng" (aka "Secret Police") prior to sitting down in 2023 and watching it. I happened to stumble upon the movie by random chance, and with it being a Hong Kong movie that I hadn't already seen, nor even heard about, of course I opted to watch it.

Writers Wai-Shing Tam didn't exactly deliver a particularly wholesome script and storyline for director Tin-Hung Yiu to bring to the screen. It felt, most of all, like things were just made up on the fly as the filming progressed. Having sat through 93 minutes of this movie, I have to admit that most of the storyline made little sense to me, and just felt random.

I was only familiar with Alex Fong on the cast list here. However, I will say that the cast ensemble in the movie did fair jobs, given the limitations imposed on them by an inferior script.

For a 1990s Hong Kong action movie then director Tin-Hung Yiu's 1993 movie "Jing Wang Xiong Feng" just wasn't outstanding, impressive or memorable. The movie failed to make a lasting impression on me, and I doubt that I will ever return to watch it a second time.

My rating of "Jing Wang Xiong Feng" lands on a generous four out of ten stars.
