The movie has a good plot but the acting is horrible. And how could the producer not notice that there's a blooper in the movie when the suspects are being chased by the cops. They are in a Chrysler 200 at first but in one scene they were in a Ford Focus and then back to the Chrysler 200 when they finally lose the cops and let the cheerleaders/ hostages go free. And then when the suspects throw an explosive and it looks like it slides under the cops car but then another car blows up that came out of nowhere. It's really noticeable and yet the producer thought that no one would notice? Well i guess he thought that "what the heck, no one will be watching this movie anyway, so no one will notice". Ha ha ha! Well i did.... So funny!

Horrible acting!
This Film is a Hit Job!
"The Assault" had the feeling of a film school project due to the substandard screenplay.
Many of the scenes lacked coherence and logic. It made no sense that the two female robbers would hold up a convenience store and then burn their car. It made no sense that Nicole, the mastermind of the robberies, would seduce the detective. It made no sense that the detective would risk his reputation in a small town to get involved with a stripper. It made no sense that the Nicole would suddenly betray Lindsay in order to keep all the money herself.
There were actually some decent cinematic values with the winter photography and the location filming. Even the acting was good. But the cast should have demanded rewrites due to the absence of character development in in the script.
The preposterous situations and half-baked relationships made this film an assault on the intellect of the audience. It was a hit job!
